Follow Jesus Through the Gospels, wk9 – between two entries

Follow-Jesus-graphicAs we looked at the Triumphal Entry this week (download Week 9 worksheet-PDF here), we were also drawn to the anticipation of His second entry in Revelation 19:

Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness. 12 His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. 13 He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is the Word of God. 14 The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. 15 A sharp sword came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. 16 And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh:

This is our hope!

There are so many documentaries about ancient Jerusalem and I personally find visual tools helpful in my learning.  But I find it challenging to filter through the presuppositions of the documentary makers to present an accurate, but wholly Biblical presentation of history that requires some subjectivity.  Here is one from Day of Discovery (I love this website so much!) that is very informative and scripturally aligned.  There are certainly many others on YouTube – two secular ones that had a lot of historical information are The City of David and Lost Treasures of The Ancient World.
