Pray for the persecuted church – TUESDAY

IDOP2015-BANNER

Monday’s prayer focus was for Christians around the world imprisoned for their faith.  Pray that God would strengthen, protect and encourage them.

Today, we add prayers of God’s protection over pastors and evangelists spreading the gospel message in restricted and hostile nations.  We add prayers for these men and women of God who have been chosen to be a light in a dark world.  We are welcomed to be like Aaron and Hur – they lifted up the arms of Moses who held the staff of God and oversaw the battle…and as a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amelek in battle (Exodus 17:8-16).

Scriptures to pray over God’s ambassadors and their work:

Matthew 5:10 – God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

1 Timothy 1:12 – I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him,

Lamentations 3:24-25 – I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”  The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.

Deuteronomy 31:6 – So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Hebrews 11:33-34 – By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight.

Philippians 2:16 – Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.

Pray today for the ministers of the Gospel that face oppression, opposition, and persecution.  Pray the blessing of Isaiah 52:7 over them of how beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!
